We're still getting quite warm weather at the moment, so apart from the few cool days a couple of weeks ago, we're not really thinking much about our heaters - although we have already done 6 gas heater services prompted by the short cool spell.
Historically for us, as soon as mid-March hits, the calls start rolling in thick and fast for gas heater repairs and gas heater services and safety checks. At the peak of the madness last Winter, we were booked nearly 5 weeks in advance! Sure, there were a few spots available in the diary here and there prior to that, but it was madness and mayhem (in a good way)!
If you're thinking your gas heater will be due for a service and safety check (carbon monoxide test) this coming year, then we highly recommend getting in early to beat the rush. Or, if you were having issues with your gas heater last year, we also suggest to get in early to get repairs done. Repairs need to be made to heating units before a full service can be carried out.
Energy Safe Victoria recommend that all types of gas heaters (gas wall furnaces, gas log fires, gas ducted heating, gas space heaters) be serviced and tested for carbon monoxide at least every two years.
Get in early, play it safe with gas, and be prepared in advance for our typically chilly winter!
Tomlinson Plumbing can assist you with the supply, installation, repair, service and safety checking (carbon monoxide) of all types of gas heaters and gas log fires in Geelong, Torquay, Barwon Heads, Ocean Grove & surrounding areas.
