What do you do when you need to repair a water pipe, but you can’t isolate the water supply? You freeze it!
We were called to a job recently for repair to a damaged water pipe. The main water supply couldn’t be isolated, so the only option was to temporarily freeze the water in the pipe whilst the repair was being done.
For smaller jobs, carbon dioxide is sprayed from pressurised cans onto the pipe. Larger jobs require carbon dioxide pipe freezing kits.
