Avoid ‘toilet plume’
You really should put the toilet seat down. Not just to keep your partner happy, but to also avoid ‘toilet plume’.
When you flush a toilet, the swirling water that removes your waste from the bowl also mixes with small particles of that waste, shooting contaminated globules into the air…. wait for it….as far as 5 metres!!
That’s well and truly far enough to reach and settle on the floor, the sink and your toothbrush! Yuck!
So, it really is a very good idea to lower the toilet seat before you flush…and make sure you have covers for your toothbrush, or better still, put toothbrushes and cups into the cupboard!
