Hot Water System electronic shut off valve to prevent flooding
The Mildred Valve is an Australian-designed, battery-operated, electronic shut off valve for internal hot water systems.
The valve senses water pooling in the safety tray and immediately shuts off the water supply, triggering an audible alarm to alert the home occupier.
Connection to mains power is not required, as the valve features long-lasting battery operation.
- Leak Detection: Uses a sensor in the hot water unit's tray; triggers at approximately 11mm of water.
- Automatic Shut-off: Shuts off water to prevent damage.
- Power Source: Operates on 4 x AA or AAA batteries (no mains power required).
- Installation: Flexible, can be installed at any angle up to 600mm from the tray floor.
- Alert System: Emits an audible alarm if triggered or if batteries are low.
- Compliance: Watermark approved, meets AS/NZS3500.4:2018 and WMTS-476:2016.
- Beeping: Indicates a leak, low batteries, or debris interfering with sensors.
- Resetting: Press the green button to reset the valve after it has been triggered.
- Maintenance: Annual battery replacement is generally recommended
