So many times over the last few years we’ve attended customers’ premises to rectify installations of hot water systems because they’ve had their warranty voided by another tradesperson.
They usually don’t know that they have an issue until something goes wrong with the product and they contact the manufacturer to arrange a warranty call out. It’s at this time that they may find out that the product either wasn’t installed properly in the first place, or the product was installed by a plumber who didn’t have the correct box ticked on his license. A non-licensed installation means no warranty. Period. Always make sure you obtain and check your certificates of compliance from the tradesperson.
Unfortunately some tradespeople have a ‘she’ll be right’ attitude and even if they do know how to successfully do the installation, if they’re not licensed to perform that particular task, then they’re not licensed to do that particular job!
